How Do Support Groups Help ?

People ask themselves, “why attend a support group? ”

The reality is a brain tumor disagnososis is a life changing experience. The journey ahead promises to bring new difficult challenges to not only the brain tumor survivor but their family as well.

Attending a FBTA support group provides a safe place to share experiences for both the brain tumor survivor and their families. The opportunity to learn from and help others in a similar situation offers a sense of helpfulness and hope. Current data illustrates that support groups have been proven to be an integral part of the healing process. We believe our support groups offer emotional and medical information to ease families through the initial shock of diagnosis. The experiences of other survivors offer important and real coping skills as well as direction to other resources.

100% of the funds raised by the Florida Brain Tumor Association through donations or everts are directed to brain tumor research, fundraising and educational meetings. We are proud that with our help, brain tumor research labs can continue to thrive. We are excited to be a part of what we all hope will someday be a cure. The FBTA will continue in- person events as soon as possible.
